‘Lost In Dreams’, the new album from vocalist Curtis Stigers to be released on September 28th [Europe] / 29th [North America] includes a cover of “Vera”, from Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The original, of course, features Roger’s plaintive vocal, making reference to the World War Two “Forces’ Sweetheart” Dame Vera Lynn (who incidentally has just topped the UK album charts at the impressive age of 92 – the oldest living artist to do so).
“Vera” is not a track that has been covered often (to our knowledge); Stigers’ vocal style works well on the track, a sample of which can be heard via the album page here.
