Brain Damage founder Glenn Povey, author of the truly essential book “Echoes: The Complete History of Pink Floyd” has been in touch, with the news that it has received a second edition UK printing via 3C Publishing, and that the first in a series of foreign language editions has been published. We have details of which foreign language editions are in the pipeline, how our Hungarian readers can get hold of their copy of this book, and also how people everywhere can pick up a copy of the second edition UK version at a knock-down price…
Completists may wish to note the new UK edition has some updates to captions, illustrations and factual information contained in the first pressing (Mind Head Publishing, 2006) as new information has come to light. The 3C edition is printed in exactly the same format on slightly heavier stock but has been aimed squarely at the promotional trade and has enabled sales through UK retailers such as HMV and Fopp at a discounted price.
There is no direct mail order from the publisher but you can order this edition through Amazon UK, although it is recommended you check on the ‘new’ link to access third party retailers who are also able to sell it at the reduced cover price, by following this link.
Also of interest to BD readers in Hungary is the first in a series of foreign language editions – Cartaphilus are the first publishers to translate “Echoes” into a foreign language and it has been beautifully reproduced with a redesigned hardback cover to roughly the same dimensions. For further details please see the Cartaphilus website (www.cartaphilus.hu) or order a copy from either of these two websites: www.polc.hu or www.konyvkapu.hu.
Glenn’s Mind Head Publishing is also pleased to announce that foreign language rights have now been sold to France, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland and China (in an abridged form). Also under negotiation are rights for Serbia, Brazil, Korea and at long last the USA. We will of course keep you posted on publication dates and details of availability.
